Remember...

Proverbs 4:1-13 NCV

My children, listen to your father’s teaching; pay attention so you will understand.

What I am telling you is good, so do not forget what I teach you.

When I was a young boy in my father’s house and like an only child to my mother,

my father taught me and said, “Hold on to my words with all your heart. Keep my commands and you will live.

Get wisdom and understanding. Don’t forget or ignore my words.

Hold on to wisdom, and it will take care of you. Love it, and it will keep you safe.

Wisdom is the most important thing; so get wisdom. If it costs everything you have, get understanding.

Treasure wisdom, and it will make you great; hold on to it, and it will bring you honor.

It will be like flowers in your hair and like a beautiful crown on your head.”

My child, listen and accept what I say. Then you will have a long life.

I am guiding you in the way of wisdom, and I am leading you on the right path.

Nothing will hold you back; you will not be overwhelmed.

Always remember what you have been taught, and don’t let go of it.

Keep all that you have learned; it is the most important thing in life.

To Encourage...

Hebrews 10:23-25 English Standard Version (ESV) 23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

Spiritual Significance

John 15:5 New King James Version (NKJV) 5  “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. "One day, a wise friend helped me understand this verse more fully by saying, “Apart from me you can do nothing  of spiritual significance,  nothing  of   etern al value.” - Caran Jantzen

A Necessary Sacrifice

Hebrews 2:16-18 New Living Translation (NLT) 16 We also know that the Son did not come to help angels; he came to help the descendants of Abraham. 17 Therefore, it was necessary for him to be made in every respect like us, his brothers and sisters,[a] so that he could be our merciful and faithful High Priest before God. Then he could offer a sacrifice that would take away the sins of the people. 18 Since he himself has gone through suffering and testing, he is able to help us when we are being tested.
