With My Whole Heart...

Psalm 111 King James Version (KJV) 111  Praise ye the  Lord . I will praise the  Lord  with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation. 2  The works of the  Lord  are great, sought out of all them that have pleasure therein. 3  His work is honourable and glorious: and his righteousness endureth for ever. 4  He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered: the  Lord  is gracious and full of compassion. 5  He hath given meat unto them that fear him: he will ever be mindful of his covenant. 6  He hath shewed his people the power of his works, that he may give them the heritage of the heathen. 7  The works of his hands are verity and judgment; all his commandments are sure. 8  They stand fast for ever and ever, and are done in truth and uprightness. 9  He sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and reverend is his name. 10...

All Things Under Him

1 Corinthians 15:22-28 GNT For just as all people die because of their union with Adam, in the same way all will be raised to life because of their union with Christ.  But each one will be raised in proper order: Christ, first of all; then, at the time of his coming, those who belong to him.  Then the end will come; Christ will overcome all spiritual rulers, authorities, and powers, and will hand over the Kingdom to God the Father.  For Christ must rule until God defeats all enemies and puts them under his feet.  The last enemy to be defeated will be death.  For the scripture says, “God put  all  things under his feet.” It is clear, of course, that the words “all things” do not include God himself, who puts all things under Christ.  But when all things have been placed under Christ's rule, then he himself, the Son, will place himself under God, who placed all things under him; and God will rule completely over all. A Solitary Place

"I like to sit on my favourite rock, looking over the brook, to take time away from the busy-ness, time to be... it's something we all need for our spiritual health, and often we don't take enough of it."  - Madeline L'Engle Mark 1:35 New King James Version (NKJV) 35  Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed.

Made Clean

Matthew 8:1-4 NKJV When He had come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed Him. And behold, a leper came and worshiped Him, saying, Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean. Then Jesus put out  His  hand and touched him, saying, I am willing; be cleansed.  Immediately his leprosy was cleansed. And Jesus said to him, See that you tell no one; but go your way, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that  Moses  commanded, as a testimony to them. Published with Blogger-droid v2.0.6

To Him Who Is Able...

Jude 1:20-25 New King James Version (NKJV) Maintain Your Life with God 20  But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,  21  keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. 22  And on some have compassion, making a distinction; [ a ]   23  but others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire, [ b ] hating even the garment defiled by the flesh. Glory to God 24  Now to Him who is able to keep you [ c ]  from stumbling, And to present you faultless Before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, 25  To God our Savior, [ d ] Who alone is wise, [ e ] Be glory and majesty, Dominion and power, [ f ] Both now and forever. Amen.

Home

No distant Lord have I, Loving afar to be; Made flesh for me, He cannot rest Until He rests in me. Be Tempered

"Souls are heated in the furnace of affliction, plunged into the file waters of tribulation, and ground between the upper and nether stones of adversity and disaster. Be still in the Hands of God until He tempers you." - R. V. Lawrence Published with Blogger-droid v2.0.6

God's plans in our hearts

Nehemiah 2:11-20 New Living Translation (NLT) Nehemiah Inspects Jerusalem’s Wall 11  So I arrived in Jerusalem. Three days later,   12  I slipped out during the night, taking only a few others with me. I had not told anyone about the plans God had put in my heart for Jerusalem. We took no pack animals with us except the donkey I was riding.   13  After dark I went out through the Valley Gate, past the Jackal’s Well, [ a ]  and over to the Dung Gate to inspect the broken walls and burned gates.   14  Then I went to the Fountain Gate and to the King’s Pool, but my donkey couldn’t get through the rubble.   15  So, though it was still dark, I went up the Kidron Valley [ b ]  instead, inspecting the wall before I turned back and entered again at the Valley Gate. 16  The city officials did not know I had been out there or what I was doing, for I had not yet said anything to anyone about my plans. I had not yet sp...

What Has Been Promised...

Hebrews 6:11-15 New King James Version (NKJV) 11  And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end,  12  that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises. 13  For when God made a promise to Abraham, because He could swear by no one greater, He swore by Himself,  14  saying, “Surely blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply you.” [ a ]   15  And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.

Love Planted Deeply...

Being a Child

"This life of faith, them about which I am writing, consists of just this - being a child in the Father's house. And when this is said, enough is said to transform every weary, burdened life into one of blessedness and rest." - Hannah Whitall Smith

He Wants Us to be Happy

Ecclesiastes 3:12-13 NCV So I realize that the best thing for them is to be happy and enjoy themselves as long as they live. God wants all people to eat and drink and be happy in their work, which are gifts from God. Published with Blogger-droid v2.0.5

The Word Will Prevail

Living in the Light

Ephesians 5:6-15 GNT Do not let anyone deceive you with foolish words; it is because of these very things that God's anger will come upon those who do not obey him.  So have nothing at all to do with such people.  You yourselves used to be in the darkness, but since you have become the Lord's people, you are in the light. So you must live like people who belong to the light,  for it is the light that brings a rich harvest of every kind of goodness, righteousness, and truth.  Try to learn what pleases the Lord.  Have nothing to do with the worthless things that people do, things that belong to the darkness. Instead, bring them out to the light. (  It is really too shameful even to talk about the things they do in secret.)  And when all things are brought out to the light, then their true nature is clearly revealed;  for anything that is clearly revealed becomes light. That is why it is said, “Wake up, sleeper, and rise from death, and Chr...

Reliance on Him

John 6:55-58 NKJV For My flesh is  food indeed, and My blood is  drink indeed. He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood  abides in Me, and I in him. As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on Me will live because of Me.   This is the bread which came down from heaven not  as your fathers ate the manna, and are dead. He who eats this bread will live forever. Published with Blogger-droid v2.0.5

Made New

1 Corinthians 15:35-58 New King James Version (NKJV) A Glorious Body 35  But someone will say, “How are the dead raised up? And with what body do they come?”  36  Foolish one, what you sow is not made alive unless it dies.  37  And what you sow, you do not sow that body that shall be, but mere grain—perhaps wheat or some other  grain.   38  But God gives it a body as He pleases, and to each seed its own body. 39  All flesh  is  not the same flesh, but  there is  one  kind of  flesh [ c ]  of men, another flesh of animals, another of fish,  and another of birds. 40  There are  also celestial bodies and terrestrial bodies; but the glory of the celestial  is  one, and the  glory  of the terrestrial  is  another.  41  There is  one glory of the sun, another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for  one  star diffe...

It Won't Be Long

The Shadow of the Almighty

Psalm 91 King James Version (KJV) 91  He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2  I will say of the  Lord , He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. 3  Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. 4  He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. 5  Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; 6  Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. 7  A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. 8  Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. 9  Because thou hast made the  Lord , which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; 10...

He Hears

2 Chronicles 7:14 NKJV if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. Published with Blogger-droid v2.0.5

Remembering You

Together

"Where Horse and Rider each can trust the other everywhere, It takes a fence and more than a fence to pound that happy pair; For the one will do what the other demands, although he is beaten and blown, And when it is done, they can live through a run that neither could face alone. When Crew and Captain understand each other to the core, It takes a gale and more than a gale to put their ship ashore, For the one will do what the other commands, although they; chilled to the bone, And both together can live through weather that neither could face alone."  - Kipling

He'll Find Us

Set Your Hearts High

Colossians 3:1-4 GNT You have been raised to life with Christ, so set your hearts on the things that are in heaven, where Christ sits on his throne at the right side of God.  Keep your minds fixed on things there, not on things here on earth.  For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.  Your real life is Christ and when he appears, then you too will appear with him and share his glory! Good Intentions

Isaiah 48:17-18 New King James Version (NKJV) 17  Thus says the  Lord , your Redeemer, The Holy One of Israel: “I  am  the  Lord  your God, Who teaches you to profit, Who leads you by the way you should go. 18  Oh, that you had heeded My commandments! Then your peace would have been like a river, And your righteousness like the waves of the sea. "The Lord was ready to make kings of us when we made fools of ourselves."  - Joseph Parker. ... And each life that fails of true intent, mars the perfect plan that its Master meant. - SPRINGS IN THE VALLEY, June 16

Seeking Hope

1 Chronicles 29:14-18 New King James Version (NKJV) 14  But who  am  I, and who  are  my people, That we should be able to offer so willingly as this? For all things  come  from You, And of Your own we have given You. 15  For we  are  aliens and pilgrims before You, As  were  all our fathers; Our days on earth  are  as a shadow, And without hope. 16  “O  Lord  our God, all this abundance that we have prepared to build You a house for Your holy name is from Your hand, and  is  all Your own.  17  I know also, my God, that You test the heart and have pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of my heart I have willingly offered all these  things;  and now with joy I have seen Your people, who are present here to offer willingly to You.  18  O  Lord  God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, our fathers, keep this forever in the intent...

He Won't Give Up On Us

Mark 12:2-6 New International Version (NIV) 2  At harvest time he sent a servant to the tenants to collect from them some of the fruit of the vineyard.   3  But they seized him, beat him and sent him away empty-handed.   4  Then he sent another servant to them; they struck this man on the head and treated him shamefully.   5  He sent still another, and that one they killed. He sent many others; some of them they beat, others they killed. 6  “He had one left to send, a son, whom he loved. He sent him last of all,  saying, ‘They will respect my son.’

Wherever You Go

Believe in the Light

John 12:35-36 GNT Jesus answered, “The light will be among you a little longer. Continue on your way while you have the light, so that the darkness will not come upon you; for the one who walks in the dark does not know where he is going.  Believe in the light, then, while you have it, so that you will be the people of the light.” Published with Blogger-droid v2.0.4

Guard My Life...

Psalm 86 New International Version (NIV) A prayer of David. 1  Hear me,  Lord , and answer  me,      for I am poor and needy. 2  Guard my life, for I am faithful to you;      save your servant who trusts in you.  You are my God;   3  have mercy  on me, Lord,      for I call  to you all day long. 4  Bring joy to your servant, Lord,      for I put my trust  in you. 5  You, Lord, are forgiving and good,      abounding in love  to all who call to you. 6  Hear my prayer,  Lord ;      listen to my cry  for mercy. 7  When I am in distress,  I call  to you,      because you answer  me. 8  Among the gods  there is none like you,  Lord;      no deeds can compare with yours. 9  All the nations you have ...

Bound to Bleed

"Love, by reason of its own nature, gathers to itself the sins and sorrows of the offender, and makes them its own. In a world where sin has caused so much chaos love is bound to bleed, for when God's love comes in contact with sin in the hearts and lives of those He loves then a cross of pain is the inevitable result." - Selwyn Hughes Published with Blogger-droid v2.0.4

The First Light of Dawn...

Daniel 6:19-23 19  At the first light of dawn, the king got up and hurried to the lions’ den.   20  When he came near the den, he called to Daniel in an anguished voice, “Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to rescue you from the lions?” 21  Daniel answered, “May the king live forever!  22  My God sent his angel,  and he shut the mouths of the lions.  They have not hurt me, because I was found innocent in his sight.  Nor have I ever done any wrong before you, Your Majesty.” 23  The king was overjoyed and gave orders to lift Daniel out of the den. And when Daniel was lifted from the den, no wound  was found on him, because he had trusted  in his God. *photograph copyright R. Harriott 2012

Turn Aside

'Our Father is always trying to get us to the place of spiritual discoveries. God is not interested in getting mere information into our souls; He wants us to have a revelation of Himself. God has challenging futures for us, and will go to miracle lengths to get us to pay attention. If God calls me from ease and idleness, it will be that His undergirdings are sufficient for a great service, "I will turn aside," for it is God who calls me.' - Springs in the Valley

Purify My Heart

“Our vision is so limited we can hardly imagine a love that does not show itself in protection from suffering. The love of God is of a different nature altogether. It does not hate tragedy. It never denies reality. It stands in the very teeth of suffering. The love of God did not protect His own Son. This was the proof of His love – that He gave that Son, that He let Him go to Calvary’s cross, though “legions of angels” might have rescued Him. He will not necessarily protect us- not from anything it takes to make us like His Son. A lot of hammering and chiseling and purifying by fire will have to go into the process.”  ―  Elisabeth Elliot *Photograph copyright R. Harriott 2012
