Choose Your Focus

"Even when life is full and good I need to be aware of choosing my focus. Otherwise I can get my spirit bogged down with concern over details, and end up being unfruitful. Do you pay attention to the nudges of God to draw you close to His heart? It may be a song running through your mind, or a phrase from a Bible verse, or a pull to connect with someone you know who will be encouraging to your faith. Where we focus we follow. When you’re driving and turn to see something on the side of the road, very quickly you are heading there and need to immediately adjust or you are off the road!" - Gail Rodgers

To Encourage...

Hebrews 10:23-25 English Standard Version (ESV) 23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

Spiritual Significance

John 15:5 New King James Version (NKJV) 5  “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. "One day, a wise friend helped me understand this verse more fully by saying, “Apart from me you can do nothing  of spiritual significance,  nothing  of   etern al value.” - Caran Jantzen

A Necessary Sacrifice

Hebrews 2:16-18 New Living Translation (NLT) 16 We also know that the Son did not come to help angels; he came to help the descendants of Abraham. 17 Therefore, it was necessary for him to be made in every respect like us, his brothers and sisters,[a] so that he could be our merciful and faithful High Priest before God. Then he could offer a sacrifice that would take away the sins of the people. 18 Since he himself has gone through suffering and testing, he is able to help us when we are being tested.
