Persevere

"I was drawn into the presence on the One who had, far more that I did, the power to keep me close. I found my focus subtly shifting away from my efforts to God's: from rigour to grace, from rigidity to relationship. I soon realised that this was happening regularly. I was praying much more. I became less worried about the mechanics and methods and in turn I was more motivated. And so God cares for us that I realised anew...he himself helps us to pray. I must admit I can't explain how it is that the Holy Spirit prompts us and produces the desire to persevere in all thing. All I know is - he does." - Timothy Jones: Christianity Today

To Encourage...

Hebrews 10:23-25 English Standard Version (ESV) 23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

Spiritual Significance

John 15:5 New King James Version (NKJV) 5  “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. "One day, a wise friend helped me understand this verse more fully by saying, “Apart from me you can do nothing  of spiritual significance,  nothing  of   etern al value.” - Caran Jantzen

A Necessary Sacrifice

Hebrews 2:16-18 New Living Translation (NLT) 16 We also know that the Son did not come to help angels; he came to help the descendants of Abraham. 17 Therefore, it was necessary for him to be made in every respect like us, his brothers and sisters,[a] so that he could be our merciful and faithful High Priest before God. Then he could offer a sacrifice that would take away the sins of the people. 18 Since he himself has gone through suffering and testing, he is able to help us when we are being tested.
