Proverbs 3:5-6
New International Version (NIV)
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.
and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.
"This passage tells us that the key to following God is putting ourselves
at his disposal, trusting he knows what he is doing even when we don’t
know what he is doing. We get a bit lost when we try to live
independently of God and then invite him to nudge us in the right
direction. The writer of Proverbs tells us that God will direct
our paths, but only as we allow ourselves to be so directed. Trusting
the guide and getting to know him is the key to guidance." - David Reay
