The Possibilites of Prayer

"How limitless are the possibilities of pray when we have such a might, loving Helper! How certain we may be of the answer when He breathes the prayer through us! What a wonderful fellowship this kind of prayer gives!" - Springs in the Valley (March 31)

Follow Him

John 8:12 New Living Translation (NLT) Jesus, the Light of the World 12  Jesus spoke to the people once more and said,   “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.”

My Soul

Luke 1:46-55 New International Version (NIV) Mary’s Song 46  And Mary said: “My soul glorifies the Lord 47       and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, 48  for he has been mindful      of the humble state of his servant. From now on all generations will call me blessed, 49       for the Mighty One has done great things  for me—      holy is his name. 50  His mercy extends to those who fear him,      from generation to generation. 51  He has performed mighty deeds with his arm;      he has scattered those who are proud in their inmost thoughts. 52  He has brought down rulers from their thrones      but has lifted up the humble. 53  He has filled the hungry with good things      but has sent the rich away empty. 54  He has helped his servant Israel,      rememb...

Eyes on the Cross

An Anchor

He Holds On

John 6:35-38 MSG Jesus said, “I am the Bread of Life. The person who aligns with me hungers no more and thirsts no more, ever. I have told you this explicitly because even though you have seen me in action, you don’t really believe me. Every person the Father gives me eventually comes running to me. And once that person is with me, I hold on and don’t let go. I came down from heaven not to follow my own whim but to accomplish the will of the One who sent me."

The Mind of Christ

"Every second we get a sting from some fiery shaft, some imagination, some memory, some foreboding, some fear, some care, and God lets us get them in order that they may be destroyed and we so armed against them that they can never hurt us anymore. The only way to be armed against them is to refuse them and the source from which they come. There is a world of truth here that most Christians have entirely overlooked. They give up their spirit and heart to the Lord and they keep their head to themselves. Our intellect must be sanctified by being slain and replaced by the mind of Christ ." - Springs in the Valley (March 27)

Pray without ceasing

His Promises

"As Christians, we are to reflect Christ, and one of the things that God emphasizes about Himself more than anything is that He is a God who keeps His promises. And don’t think that it was easy for Christ to keep His promise because He knew what it would cost Him. Remember the drops of blood in the garden? Remember that carrying through in a commitment that had unforeseen challenges in it demonstrates your trust in God seeing you through these challenges. There are times to apologize and admit your failure when you committed to something unhealthy or damaging in some way. However, we need to consider the beauty of Christ’s faithfulness in keeping His promises, what it would have meant for us if He backed out because it became too hard, and seek to follow in His footsteps." - Thomas Pujol

The Shepherd

Ezekiel 34:16 New International Version (NIV) 16  I will search for the lost and bring back the strays. I will bind up  the injured and strengthen the weak,  but the sleek and the strong I will destroy.  I will shepherd the flock with justice.

He is Our Peace

Ephesians 2:14 New Living Translation (NLT) 14  For Christ himself has brought peace to us. He united Jews and Gentiles into one people when, in his own body on the cross, he broke down the wall of hostility that separated us.

To be healed...

All Sufficient

John 6:35 New Living Translation (NLT) 35  Jesus replied,   “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.

Such a Time

Esther 4:14 New International Version (NIV) 14  For if you remain silent  at this time, relief  and deliverance  for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”

His Purpose

Psalm 138:8 English Standard Version (ESV) 8  The  Lord  will  fulfill his purpose for me;      your steadfast love, O  Lord , endures forever.      Do not forsake  the work of your hands.

Do not be afraid

Revelation 2:10 New International Version (NIV) 10  Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you,  and you will suffer persecution for ten days.  Be faithful,  even to the point of death, and I will give you life as your victor’s crown.

Wait...

Habakkuk 2:3 The Message (MSG) Full of Self, but Soul-Empty 2-3  And then  God  answered: “Write this.      Write what you see. Write it out in big block letters      so that it can be read on the run. This vision-message is a witness      pointing to what’s coming. It aches for the coming—it can hardly wait!      And it doesn’t lie. If it seems slow in coming, wait.      It’s on its way. It will come right on time.

We Are His People

Isaiah 43:5-7 Good News Translation (GNT) 5  Do not be afraid—I am with you! “From the distant east and the farthest west      I will bring your people home. 6  I will tell the north to let them go      and the south not to hold them back. Let my people return from distant lands,      from every part of the world. 7  They are my own people,      and I created them to bring me glory.”

He is Gracious

Numbers 6:25-27 English Standard Version (ESV) 25 the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; 26 the Lord lift up his countenance[a] upon you and give you peace. 27 “So shall they put my name upon the people of Israel, and I will bless them.”

Because we trust

I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13   NLT

We are His Work

Isaiah 64:8 New King James Version (NKJV) 8  But now, O   Lord , You   are   our Father; We   are   the clay, and You our potter; And all we   are   the work of Your hand.

Seek His Will

Proverbs 3:5-6   Trust  in   the   Lord   with   all  your heart; do not depend on  your  own understanding. Seek his will  in  all you do, and he will show you which path to take.

He is there

"The world moans loud,  but He hears your howl . The world smiles thin,  but He touches the depths of your deep grief.   The world moves on, but His love moves you.  He takes the nails to take your pain and He runs liquid with you." - Ann Voskamp

Because He Is

“‘To whom will you compare me? Who is my equal?’ asks the Holy One. Have you never heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or wear. No one can measure the depths of His understanding.”   Isaiah 40:25, 28 (NLT) Because “I AM” is everlasting: He is not limited by my problems or my choices. He is not held captive by what I do. He uses circumstances in my past to impact my future good. His plans are not thwarted by what I or anyone else might do. My pain doesn’t overwhelm Him. My failure doesn’t discourage Him. My anger doesn’t scare Him. My questions don’t threaten Him. My choices don’t leave Him at a loss as to what to do. - Kristy Huseby

No Other Name

Acts 4:10-12 New International Version (NIV) 10  then know this, you and all the people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth,  whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead,  that this man stands before you healed.   11  Jesus is “‘the stone you builders rejected,      which has become the cornerstone.’ 12  Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”

Peace...

When I Call

Psalm 4:3 New International Version (NIV) 3  Know that the  Lord  has set apart his faithful servant  for himself;      the  Lord  hears  when I call to him.

His Peaceful Word

For Calvary interprets human life; No path of pain but there we meet our Lorg; And all the strain, the terror and the strife Die down like the waves before His peaceful word, And nowhere but beside the awful Cross, And where the olives grow along the hill, Can we accept the unexplained, the loss, The crushing agony, and hold us still.                                                     - Rose From Brier

Walking With Him

"I want to connect with the God who made me from dust, on purpose and for a purpose. I want to walk through my days in a warm conversation through prayer, aware as I walk that he walks with me, that as I speak, he hears me, that as I rest, he carries me." - Shauna Niequist

Healing...

Psalm 41:2-3 New King James Version (NKJV) 2  The   Lord   will preserve him and keep him alive, And   he will be blessed on the earth; You will not deliver him to the will of his enemies. 3  The   Lord   will strengthen him on his bed of illness; You will sustain him on his sickbed.

Sovereign Lord

Psalm 109:21 New International Version (NIV) 21  But you, Sovereign  Lord ,      help me for your name’s sake;      out of the goodness of your love,  deliver me.

By Faith

2 Corinthians 5:6-8 New King James Version (NKJV) 6  So   we are   always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord.   7  For we walk by faith, not by sight.   8  We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.

Prayers

1 Peter 3:12 New Living Translation (NLT) 12  The eyes of the  Lord  watch over those who do right,      and his ears are open to their prayers...

Focus...

His Plan

2 Timothy 1:9 New Living Translation (NLT) 9  For God saved us and called us to live a holy life. He did this, not because we deserved it, but because that was his plan from before the beginning of time—to show us his grace through Christ Jesus.

Something Better

Hebrews 11:39-40 New King James Version (NKJV) 39  And all these, having obtained a good testimony through faith, did not receive the promise,   40  God having provided something better for us, that they should not be made perfect apart from us.

Our Merciful Father

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 New Living Translation (NLT) God Offers Comfort to All 3  All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort.   4  He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.

Trust and Believe

Because of Him

Romans 5:1-8, 10-9 MSG By entering through faith into what God has always wanted to do for us—set us right with him, make us fit for him—we have it all together with God because of our Master Jesus. And that’s not all: We throw open our doors to God and discover at the same moment that he has already thrown open his door to us. We find ourselves standing where we always hoped we might stand—out in the wide open spaces of God’s grace and glory, standing tall and shouting our praise. There’s more to come: We continue to shout our praise even when we’re hemmed in with troubles, because we know how troubles can develop passionate patience in us, and how that patience in turn forges the tempered steel of virtue, keeping us alert for whatever God will do next. In alert expectancy such as this, we’re never left feeling shortchanged. Quite the contrary—we can’t round up enough containers to hold everything God generously pours into ou...
