For Me...

Galatians 2:20 New International Version (NIV) 20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Life!

Isaiah 55:3-5 Good News Translation (GNT) 3  “Listen now, my people, and come to me;      come to me, and you will have life! I will make a lasting covenant with you      and give you the blessings I promised to David. 4  I made him a leader and commander of nations,      and through him I showed them my power. 5  Now you will summon foreign nations;      at one time they did not know you,      but now they will come running to join you! I, the  Lord  your God, the holy God of Israel,      will make all this happen;      I will give you honor and glory.”

Many Prayers Answered

2 Corinthians 1:10-11 Good News Translation (GNT) 10 From such terrible dangers of death[a] he saved us, and will save us; and we have placed our hope in him that he will save us again, 11 as you help us by means of your prayers for us. So it will be that the many prayers for us will be answered, and God will bless us; and many will raise their voices to him in thanksgiving for us.

All Things

Romans 11:36 New International Version (NIV) 36 For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.

To Know...

"Our lives have their seasons. And it is in the nature of seasons that they involve change. We need the wisdom of God to know when to stay and when to go. To know when a season is to be endured or when a season is to be left behind." - David Reay

Follow in Faith

"If we are willing to go his way, perhaps the hard way, he will be with us in our deliberations and actions. If we want his wisdom we will get it. If we want his powerful presence, we have it." - David Reay

His Mercies

Lamentations 3:21-23 Living Bible (TLB) 21  Yet there is one ray of hope:   22  his compassion never ends.  It is only the Lord’s mercies that have kept us from complete destruction.  23  Great is his faithfulness; his loving-kindness begins afresh each day.

Our Bit

Luke 23:32-34 J.B. Phillips New Testament (PHILLIPS) 32-34 Two criminals were also led out with him for execution, and when they came to the place called The Skull, they crucified him with the criminals, one on either side of him. But Jesus himself was saying, “Father, forgive them; they do not know what they are doing.” Then they shared out his clothes by casting lots. "His words here remind us that his ultimate word to us is one of mercy and forgiveness. That is his ‘default’. He has done his bit, but for us to enjoy the blessings of forgiveness we need to do our bit and accept our need of it." - David Reay

His Beauty

Psalm 104:24-25 New International Version (NIV) 24 How many are your works, Lord!     In wisdom you made them all;     the earth is full of your creatures. 25 There is the sea, vast and spacious,     teeming with creatures beyond number—     living things both large and small.

Our Strength

Isaiah 30:15 New International Version (NIV) 15 This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says: “In repentance and rest is your salvation,     in quietness and trust is your strength"

Anointed

Isaiah 61 New International Version (NIV) The Year of the  Lord ’s Favor 61  The Spirit  of the Sovereign  Lord  is on me,      because the  Lord  has anointed  me      to proclaim good news  to the poor. He has sent me to bind up  the brokenhearted,      to proclaim freedom  for the captives      and release from darkness for the prisoners, [ a ] 2  to proclaim the year of the  Lord ’s favor      and the day of vengeance  of our God, to comfort  all who mourn, 3       and provide for those who grieve in Zion— to bestow on them a crown  of beauty      instead of ashes, the oil  of joy      instead of mourning, and a garment of praise      instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, ...

The Season of Longing

"All the delightful pleasures we now enjoy are real enough, but even so are pointers to a deeper and eternal pleasure that lays beyond. Our memorable travels through breathtaking landscapes will pass. Our smile-soaked encounters with precious friends will pass. They are wonderful and so very real stops along the way but are not our final destination. The new heavens and the new earth are where our desires are fully met and our longings finally fulfilled. Till that time, we content ourselves with embracing those hints of heaven that come our way, comforting ourselves that one day the hints and tastes and glimpses will have passed. The season of longing will have ended." - David Reay

His Blessing

"Because we live in a faith world, our prayers should be due justice, strength, creativity and interventions to turn injustice to good ends. Then we will experience something greater than justice - we will experience the blessing of God." - Mick Brooks
Ephesians 1:18 New Century Version (NCV) 18  I pray also that you will have greater understanding in your heart so you will know the hope to which he has called us and that you will know how rich and glorious are the blessings God has promised his holy people.
