Amazing Love

"Any person would have understood if Jesus wanted to abandon the plan to save humanity. We do not deserve it, but God's grace states that we are worth it: "Father, not my will but Your will be done." Jesus' obedient act of love spared us. Three days later, even death could not stop Him. Death was merely the beginning of the story. The cross, which had always been a symbol of shame and suffering, became a symbol for hope, love, and restoration." - Shane Rochon

Confident Trust

Hebrews 10:35-36 New Living Translation (NLT) 35 So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you! 36 Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that he has promised.

His passion

"Today plans will fail and people will fall. But His passion for you is unfailing, unstoppable, unchangeable, unwreckable." -Ann Voskamp #TheBrokenWay

Trust

Unchanging

James 1:17 New Living Translation (NLT) 17 Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens.[a] He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.[b]

The Best Gift

"Prayer is our place of power. It’s the place where our capacity is increased to withstand that wear and tear ― and to even give joyful thanks as we do so. Prayer is the best gift we can give each other. It’s the most effective thing we can do, even though it often feels like our last resort. It’s our greatest privilege and our deepest responsibility. Prayer is what believers do. As you pray this prayer for yourself or for someone else, know we are praying it for you today too." - Gail Rodgers

Laid Before Him

Hebrews 4:13 New International Version (NIV) 13 Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

The Dew-Drenched Life

Hosea 14:5 King James Version (KJV) 5  I will be as the dew unto Israel: he shall grow as the lily, and cast forth his roots as Lebanon.  "Hosea leads us to the source of the dew-drenched life. It is from Him that this priceless gift comes. Those who spend much time with the Master come forth with the dew of blessing upon their lives." - Springs in the Valley (June 19)

The Right Focus

"Throughout my life I have learned from mature Christians - Christians who took time to listen to the Spirit's voice and were ahead of me in the Christian race. I have discovered that on almost every one there was a great sense of responsibility for the work they had to do here on earth, but there was also a clear focus on the destiny that was ahead." - Selwyn Hughes

Fixed on Jesus

Hebrews 12:2 Good News Translation (GNT) 2 Let us keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, on whom our faith depends from beginning to end. He did not give up because of the cross! On the contrary, because of the joy that was waiting for him, he thought nothing of the disgrace of dying on the cross, and he is now seated at the right side of God's throne.

Facing the Darkness

John 11:35 New International Version (NIV) 35 Jesus wept. "You might think we can say little about the shortest verse in the Bible. But it reveals something important about Jesus and about life and death. It shows Jesus experiences human emotions of the unpleasant variety. He was not a pretend human being, not a deity masquerading as a human. Here at the tomb of Lazarus he felt grief. It also reminds us that death is something to be mourned. It is more than a little disturbing when people say that they don’t want a funeral to be a time of sadness but simply a glad celebration. While we appreciate the desire to express thankfulness for a person’s life, we need also appreciate the need to mourn, even to weep. This is true even for Christians. In our legitimate desire to focus on the glad certainties of eternal life, we dare not use this as a means of denial of grief and sorrow. In the same episode at Lazarus’ tomb, Jesus spoke of the realities of resurrection and ...

Give Thanks

Psalm 107:8-9 New International Version (NIV) 8  Let them give thanks   to the   Lord   for his unfailing love      and his wonderful deeds   for mankind, 9  for he satisfies   the thirsty      and fills the hungry with good things.

Don't Stop

"The journey toward health and holiness is one that we believers might be on for the rest of our lives. The fight can be long. But, we have a Savior who will guide us through and bring us to our complete restoration. Don’t stop. We are in this for the long haul." - Debbie West

Press On

“I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” - Philippians 3:14 " If anyone had a reason to be discouraged, it was Paul. He lived and traveled under difficult circumstances. Paul knew that, no matter what happened to him, he would eventually see the face of Jesus. So he pressed on, and even in his jail cell awaiting execution, he wrote to encourage others to do so as well." - John Grant

Exceeds Understanding

Philippians 4:7New Living Translation (NLT) 7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

God's Way

"Do you serve God because of what you want to give to Him or because of what you hope to get from Him? Tough question. The honest answer for most of us is probably both. We give to God because we love Him, and out of His love He gives to us. This is God’s way. It’s OK to enjoy His good gifts." - Dr Guy Saffold

Gratitude

Richly Provided

2 Peter 1:10-11 English Standard Version (ESV) 10  Therefore, brothers, [ a ]   be all the more diligent to confirm your calling and   election, for if you practice these qualities   you will never fall.   11  For in this way there will be richly provided for you   an entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

A Fine Balance

"The same Jesus who urged marital faithfulness also urged generous giving to the poor. The same Bible which teaches obedience and respect for authority also teaches radical opposition to the selfish materialism of the world. We are to value our family relationships and at the same time welcome the stranger and the exile. We are to work hard for our living and yet enjoy rest. Wrongdoers are to be justly punished by the state, while we are to personally forgive those who wrong us." - David Reay

Named and Kept

1 Peter 2:21-25 The Message (MSG) 21-25 This is the kind of life you’ve been invited into, the kind of life Christ lived. He suffered everything that came his way so you would know that it could be done, and also know how to do it, step-by-step. He never did one thing wrong, Not once said anything amiss. They called him every name in the book and he said nothing back. He suffered in silence, content to let God set things right. He used his servant body to carry our sins to the Cross so we could be rid of sin, free to live the right way. His wounds became your healing. You were lost sheep with no idea who you were or where you were going. Now you’re named and kept for good by the Shepherd of your souls.
