Endure

Revelation 3:10 New International Version (NIV) 10 Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come on the whole world to test the inhabitants of the earth.

What you have

Judges 6:14 New International Version (NIV) 14  The  Lord  turned to him and said, “Go in the strength you have  and save  Israel out of Midian’s hand. Am I not sending you?”

More than Excellence

"Our God is not simply to be found in the pristine silences and the musical crescendos. He is found in the messiness and awkwardness of life, even church life. Ultimately, he values us more than ‘excellence’." - David Reay

Endurance

Revelation 14:12-13 English Standard Version (ESV) 12 Here is a call for the endurance of the saints, those who keep the commandments of God and their faith in Jesus.[a] 13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying, “Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.” “Blessed indeed,” says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow them!”

Simplicity

"There is a simplicity about God working out His plans, yet a resourcefulness equal to any difficulty, an unswerving faithfulness to His trusting child, and an unforgetting steadiness in holding to His purpose." - Springs in the Valley (February 24)

My Hope

Psalm 42:5 New International Version (NIV) 5  Why, my soul, are you downcast?      Why so disturbed   within me? Put your hope in God,      for I will yet praise   him,      my Savior   and my God.

Faith

"Faith in Him, whom you can't see, to take care of everything you can see, this is the firmest foundation under everything you can think of " - Ann Voskamp

Act of Worship

"When we exchange worry for faith, this transaction is an act of worship. We choose to submit to God's rule and reign in the circumstance. We honour His role in our life and express faith through thankfulness. This act of worship will move you from worry to anticipation." - Mike Woodward

Let God

"Don’t dwell on the situation you’re in now, but trust in the Lord and do His will. There are so many ways you can make a change in the world. Just doing something can do a lot. Let God use you by letting Him in full control because He knows what’s best for you." - Fritz Chery

Worthy

"Today I, too, need to call upon the name of the Lord. I need to revere Him, and give Him that extravagant respect that He alone deserves. I love that – extravagant respect! In sunshine and rain, through the good times and the hard, God alone is worthy of my worship and praise." - Doris Beck

There is a Pattern

"We are all weavers and day by day we work in the threads - now dark, now bright - that are to go into the finished pattern. But blessed are they who feel sure that there is a pattern; who hear and trust the directing Voice, and so weave the changing threads to music." - W. J. Hart

Ongoing Prayer

"Every day. Always. Jesus is praying for us — for you, for me. At any moment we can join Him as we slip into His throne room and kneel with our concerns. We can unload all the things that weigh us down and steal our focus and our peace. Often I rush into God’s presence with my need of the moment. Yet this picture of the ongoing prayer meeting in heaven gave me pause as I consider how I approach God with my prayers. I love the image of slipping into the quiet throne room and joining Jesus on my knees as my requests go to the Father. Today, as we have that open invitation into His presence, let’s remember that we join Jesus as He prays to the Father. May it change our entrance, our focus, and fill us with awe as we step into that prayer meeting many times throughout today." - Gail Rodgers

His Reward

1 Peter 3:13-15a New Living Translation (NLT) 13  Now, who will want to harm you if you are eager to do good?   14  But even if you suffer for doing what is right, God will reward you for it. So don’t worry or be afraid of their threats.   15  Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life.

He will fight for you

Exodus 14:14 New International Version (NIV) 14  The  Lord  will fight  for you; you need only to be still.

Faith in Action

James 2:14-17 English Standard Version (ESV) 14 What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good[a] is that? 17 So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

Even now

His House

Psalm 122 1  I rejoiced with those who said to me,     “Let us go to the house of the Lord.”

Christ Alone

To Serve

"What do we get out of serving God? We don’t get immediate justice or fairness. We don’t get constant ease and comfort. We are not guaranteed good health or happy marriages or compliant children. We are not assured of peaceable relationships or material prosperity. Ultimately, we serve God because he is God, not because we assume we will get certain benefits. To be sure we do get benefits, not least of which is eternal life with God himself. But more immediately, there might be no ‘pay off’ for serving God. If we insist on such immediate benefits we might be disappointed. Maybe this is one reason why many seem to give up on the faith: it hasn’t ‘worked’, it hasn’t given them what they were expecting." - David Reay

Renewal

Acts 3:20-21 English Standard Version (ESV) 20 ...times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and...he may send the Christ appointed for you, Jesus, 21 whom heaven must receive until the time for restoring all the things about which God spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets long ago.

Focus

"How might your 2017 be better than last year if you intentionally focus on sticking to a spiritually healthy diet?" - Tracie W Miles

Begin...

Philippians 1:6 English Standard Version (ESV) 6 And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.

In Wisdom

Colossians 4:2-6 English Standard Version (ESV) 2  Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it  with thanksgiving. 3  At the same time, pray also for us, that God may  open to us a door for the word,  to declare the mystery of Christ,  on account of which I am in prison—   4  that I may make it clear, which is how I ought to speak. 5  Walk in wisdom toward  outsiders, making the best use of the time. 6  Let your speech always  be gracious,  seasoned with salt,  so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.
