In His Creation

Romans 1:20 New International Version (NIV) 20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.

We are His

Romans 14:8 English Standard Version (ESV) 8 For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord's.

Small Things

To Trust

"Those who trust in Jesus can both embrace what life has to offer now and also look forward to embracing the perfect life forever. We are neither to assume this life is all there is and so desperately fight mortality, or give up on this life in order to get some peace and quiet in heaven. We seek to live life to the full now, while recognising the fuller life is yet to come." - David Reay

Things Above

What Lies Ahead

Philippians 3:13 New International Version (NIV) 13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead

The Law of Liberty

James 1:21-25 English Standard Version (ESV) 21  Therefore   put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with   meekness the implanted word,   which is able to save your souls. 22  But be   doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.   23  For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror.   24  For he looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like. 25  But the one who looks into the perfect law,   the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts,   he will be blessed in his doing.

An offering

Ephesians 5:1-2 New International Version (NIV) 5  1  Follow God’s example,  therefore, as dearly loved children   2  and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us  and gave himself up for us  as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

The Ultimate Goal

"It is the end which justifies and explains all. It is to the ultimate goal that God's eye is ever turning. At the right moment the shining harvest will appear! What though the seed may seem to perish in the dark cold ground! What will that matter when the blade bursts forth, and the ear unfolds, and the full corn waves over the golden harvest field?" - Springs in the Valley (September 18)

The Purpose

Isaiah 55:10-11 New International Version (NIV) 10  As the rain  and the snow      come down from heaven, and do not return to it      without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish,      so that it yields seed  for the sower and bread for the eater, 11  so is my word  that goes out from my mouth:      It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire      and achieve the purpose  for which I sent it.

His Servant

Galatians 1:10 New Revised Standard Version (NRSV) 10  Am I now seeking human approval, or God’s approval? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still pleasing people, I would not be a servant [ a ]   of Christ.

Working with Him

Proverbs 21:30-31 English Standard Version (ESV) 30  No wisdom, no understanding, no counsel      can avail against the   Lord . 31  The horse is made ready for the day of battle,      but   the victory belongs to the   Lord .

His plan

Pleasing God

Hebrews 13:15-16 New Living Translation (NLT) 15  Therefore, let us offer through Jesus a continual sacrifice of praise to God, proclaiming our allegiance to his name.  16  And don’t forget to do good and to share with those in need. These are the sacrifices that please God.

Do not be anxious

Philippians 4:6-7 New King James Version (NKJV) 6  Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;  7  and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

My help

Psalm 121:1-2 Good News Translation (GNT) The Lord Our Protector 121  I look to the mountains;      where will my help come from? 2  My help will come from the  Lord ,      who made heaven and earth.

Apply Your Heart

Proverbs 2:1-5 New International Version (NIV) 2  My son,   if you accept my words      and store up my commands within you, 2  turning your ear to wisdom      and applying your heart to understanding— 3  indeed, if you call out for insight      and cry aloud for understanding, 4  and if you look for it as for silver      and search for it as for hidden treasure, 5  then you will understand the fear of the   Lord      and find the knowledge of God.

Let Go

"No man ever makes Him supreme and suffers loss; for Jehovah will not be left in any man's debt. When a man holds on, God takes away; when a man lets go, He gives, and that liberally." - Springs in the Valley (September 8)

When the Time Comes

1 Corinthians 13:9-12 New Living Translation (NLT) 9  Now our knowledge is partial and incomplete, and even the gift of prophecy reveals only part of the whole picture!   10  But when the time of perfection comes, these partial things will become useless. 11  When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child. But when I grew up, I put away childish things.   12  Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. [ a ]   All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely.

On His Word

"Are you giving attention to the Word? Are you hearing from Him? Or have you allowed the distractions of the world keep you from listening to Jesus? Instead of fixating on life’s challenges, meditate on the Word so that you can hear from Him." - Folasade Oladapo

Set Free

Galatians 5:1 The Message (MSG) The Life of Freedom 5 Christ has set us free to live a free life. So take your stand! Never again let anyone put a harness of slavery on you.

With God

Luke 4:1-4 New Living Translation (NLT) 4  Then Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan River. He was led by the Spirit in the wilderness, [ a ]   2  where he was tempted by the devil for forty days. Jesus ate nothing all that time and became very hungry. 3  Then the devil said to him, “If you are the Son of God, tell this stone to become a loaf of bread.” 4  But Jesus told him,   “No! The Scriptures say, ‘People do not live by bread alone.’ [ b ] ”
