Fear not

His Word

"In prayer, be sure to get your feet on a promise; it will give you purchase enough to force open the gates of heaven and to take it by force! When once you can lay hold of a promise, you have leverage with God which enables you to count upon the fulfillment of your petition. God cannot back from His plighted word." - F. B. Meyer

Focused on Christ

Hebrews 12:2-3 The Message (MSG) 12 2 Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we’re in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed—that exhilarating finish in and with God—he could put up with anything along the way: Cross, shame, whatever. And now he’s there, in the place of honor, right alongside God. When you find yourselves flagging in your faith, go over that story again, item by item, that long litany of hostility he plowed through. That will shoot adrenaline into your souls!

Weak

"Let me fill you up with my presence: I in you, and you in Me. My power flows most freely into weak ones aware of their need for me." - Sarah Young, Jesus Calling.

A Change of Perspective

"When we focus on God and all He is, our perspective changes, our faith grows, and peace begins to settle over our bankrupt souls as we look to Him. Thankfulness begins to flow in the place where desperation resided." - Gail Rodgers

To be thankful

Colossians 2:6-7 New International Version (NIV) Spiritual Fullness in Christ 6  So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord,  continue to live your lives in him, 7  rooted  and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught,  and overflowing with thankfulness.

His Guidance

"It is a delightful experience when we really believe that God is steering our little bark over life's tempestuous sea. Only supreme and absolute abandonment to the will of God will give perfect rest of soul." - Springs in the Valley (April 26)

God with Us

Covered

Times of Restoring

Acts 3:20-21 English Standard Version (ESV) 20 ...times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that he may send the Christ appointed for you, Jesus, 21 whom heaven must receive until the time for restoring all the things about which God spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets long ago.

Establish Your Heart

James 5: 7-8 English Standard Version (ESV) 7 Be patient, therefore, brothers,[a] until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives the early and the late rains. 8 You also, be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand.

Assignments from Him

"When your relationship with God is as it should be, He will be giving assignments at his initiative. Whenever it seems that God is not doing anything fresh in your life, focus on the love relationship and stay there until God gives you a new assignment." - Henry Blackaby

Faithful

"One thing is certain: God is faithful. He answers our prayers in the way He deems best at the moment He knows is right." - Liz Curtis Higgs

Faith and the Promise

"Faith rests on promise; to faith the promise is equivalent to fulfillment; and we we only have the one, we may dare to count on the other as already ours. It matters comparatively little that the thing promised is not given; it is sure and certain because God has pledged His word for it, and in anticipation we may enter on its enjoyment." - Springs in the Valley (April 22)

Enough

Raw Material

"We dare not beat ourselves up for being imperfect. We can only bring those imperfections to God and ask for his mercy. And we can at the same time believe that those imperfections will not cause him to turn aside from us and leave us out of his great and good purposes. We may be very raw material, but we serve a very gracious God." - David Reay

Listen

Faith

"When a man loses heart he loses everything. To keep one's heart in the midst of life's stream, and to maintain an undiscourageable  front in the face of its difficulties is not an achievement that springs from anything that a laboratory can demonstrate, or that logic can affirm. It is an achievement of faith." - Springs in the Valley (April 20)

Prayer

Focusing on Hope

1 John 3:1-3 Good News Translation (GNT) Children of God 3  See how much the Father has loved us! His love is so great that we are called God's children—and so, in fact, we are. This is why the world does not know us: it has not known God.   2  My dear friends, we are now God's children, but it is not yet clear what we shall become. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he really is.   3  Everyone who has this hope in Christ keeps himself pure, just as Christ is pure. "...as I continued to reflect on this passage, I realized that John promises more than that here: he says that by entertaining that hope in our minds and hearts, we will become more and more like Jesus in the here and now...By focusing on that great hope, we will grow in trust in our ability to worship Him, praise Him, and obey Him more day by day." - Anne-Marie Montgomery

What Lies Ahead

Proverbs 4: 25-27 NIV Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you. Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways. Do not turn to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil.

Declare

Romans 10:9-10 New International Version (NIV) 9  If you declare  with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,”  and believe  in your heart that God raised him from the dead,  you will be saved. 10  For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

The Result

"There will be times when we feel like the trials in our lives occur as a result of something we did or didn't do, but we can't lose hope in God's ability to bring us through, no matter the circumstances."  - Marsha Pope

Filled with His Joy

Devoted

"When you trust that God always gives His best, you devote your heart to whatever assignment God gives you because you know in that role you can experience everything God has on his heart for you." - Henry Blackaby (Experiencing God)

Sent Out

Matthew 10:16 New International Version (NIV) 16 “I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves."

Face your fear

Wonders and Signs

Purify yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do great wonders among you. | Joshua 3:5

A Bright Future

Lamentations 3:21-23 English Standard Version (ESV) 21  But this I call to mind,      and   therefore I have hope: 22  The steadfast love of the   Lord   never ceases; [ a ]      his mercies never come to an end; 23  they are new   every morning;      great is your faithfulness.

Live and Learn

By His Grace

Titus 2:11-13 New International Version (NIV) 11  For the grace   of God has appeared   that offers salvation to all people. 12  It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions,   and to live self-controlled,   upright and godly lives   in this present age,   13  while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing   of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.

New Beginnings

Isaiah 43:18-19 English Standard Version (ESV) 18 “Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. 19 Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.

We Shall Succeed

Isaiah 54:17 English Standard Version (ESV) 17       no weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed,      and you shall refute every tongue that rises against you in judgement. This is the heritage of the servants of the  Lord      and their vindication [ a ]  from me, declares the  Lord .”

Spirit lead us...

" Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders Let me walk upon the waters Wherever You would call me Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander And my faith will be made stronger In the presence of my Savior" - Oceans, Hillsong United

Hallelujah!

Oh that rugged cross my salvation Where Your love poured out over me No my soul cries out hallelujah! Praise and honour unto thee - Man of Sorrows (Brooke Ligertwood, Matt Crocker )

It is Finished

John 19:28-30 New King James Version (NKJV) 28 After this, Jesus, knowing[a] that all things were now accomplished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, “I thirst!” 29 Now a vessel full of sour wine was sitting there; and they filled a sponge with sour wine, put it on hyssop, and put it to His mouth. 30 So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.

Give it to Him

"Take whatever worry is plaguing your mind and heart today and identify the fear that it truly is. Then invite God to help you lift the shield of faith to extinguish that fear. He is able and He will do it!" - Gail Rodgers

Today

His Prayer for Us

Romans 8:26 New Living Translation (NLT) 26  And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.

Riches

Ephesians 1:7 New International Version (NIV) 7  In him we have redemption  through his blood,  the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches  of God’s grace

Our Hope

1 Corinthians 15:19 English Standard Version (ESV) 19  If in Christ we have hope [ a ]   in this life only,   we are of all people most to be pitied.     "Christian hope rests on the Resurrection. The Resurrection of Jesus Christ promises us that something good will rise from every grave of disappointment. We do hope when we embrace that promise and depend upon the unwavering character of God to fulfill it." - Becky Toews

Light

His Power

"No obstacle in your life is insurmountable. God's power in you is greater than the power that's trying to hold you back." - Leona Clausing

Imperfect Progress

With You

Our Example

"What constitutes a Christian disciple is not merely the beliefs they hold but the lives they live. What constitutes Christian witness is not merely asserting a set of moral standards but practicing them in such a way as to commend them to the skeptics." - David Reay

Those who hope

Isaiah 40:30-31 New International Version (NIV) 30  Even youths grow tired and weary,      and young men  stumble and fall; 31  but those who hope  in the  Lord      will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles;      they will run and not grow weary,      they will walk and not be faint.
