Faithfulness

Yield to His Will

"God-yielded wills find the God-planned life." - James McConkey

His Peace

2 Thessalonians 3:16 New Life Version (NLV) 16  May the Lord of peace give you His peace at all times. The Lord be with you all. "Be still in My Presence, inviting Me to control your thoughts. Let My Light soak into your mind and heart until you are aglow with My very being. This is the most effective way to receive My Peace." - Jesus Calling

With Him

"Make time to be with God. He has visions to reveal to us that are not for the eye of the worldling." - Springs in the Vallley, May 29

The Word of His Love

Acts 20:32 New Life Version (NLV) 32  “And now, my brothers, I give you over to God and to the word of His love. It is able to make you strong and to give you what you are to have, along with all those who are set apart for God.

In His own Time

1 Timothy 6:13-16 New International Version (NIV) 13  In the sight of God, who gives life to everything, and of Christ Jesus, who while testifying before Pontius Pilate   made the good confession,   I charge you 14  to keep this command without spot or blame   until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ,   15  which God will bring about in his own time—God, the blessedand only Ruler,   the King of kings and Lord of lords,   16  who alone is immortaland who lives in unapproachable light,   whom no one has seen or can see.   To him be honor and might forever. Amen.

A Future

2 Corinthians 4:13-18 New International Version (NIV) 13  It is written: “I believed; therefore I have spoken.” [ a ]   Since we have that same spirit of [ b ]   faith,   we also believe and therefore speak,   14  because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead   will also raise us with Jesus   and present us with you to himself.   15  All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving   to overflow to the glory of God. 16  Therefore we do not lose heart.   Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly   we are being renewed   day by day.   17  For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18  So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen,   since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

My hope and trust

Psalm 71:5 New Life Version (NLV) 5  For You are my hope, O Lord God. You are my trust since I was young.

The One Who Never Changes

"In a world of unrelenting changes, I am the One who never changes. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. Find in Me the stability for which you have yearned." - Jesus Calling (May 26)

To grow strong...

1 Corinthians 14:26 So, brothers and sisters, what should you do? When you meet together, one person has a song, and another has a teaching. Another has a new truth from God. Another speaks in a different language, and another person interprets that language. The purpose of all these things should be to help the church grow strong.

He is Worthy

Revelation 4:11 NIV “You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.”

Look Ahead

"Those whose eyes are never lifted up to see what lies ahead should not be surprised if they find the things of earth becoming more important to them than heaven, time becoming more important than eternity." - Mick Brooks

Be a blessing

Our Waiting Hours

"The silent seasons of life are imperative. The winter is the mother of spring, the night is the fountain of the physical forces of the day; the silent soil is the womb where vegetable life is born. The greatest things in our spiritual life come out of our waiting hours, when all activity is suspended and the soul years to be "silent unto God" while He shapes and molds us for future activities and fruitful years." - Springs in the Valley (May 22)

Prepare...

"Blessing must be prepared for. You can hinder it, and shirk it; you can shut your ears to His voice; or you can get alone with the Lord Jesus and let Him have His way. God has a glorious work to do in every yielded life ; He has a glorious fullness to bestow. But there is also a work for us to do; there must be a digging down into the depths of our heart; we must resolve to get rid of all the rubbish, and to prepare for the living water." - H. Earnshaw Smith

From God

May the patience and encouragement that come from God allow you to live in harmony with each other the way Christ Jesus wants. Then you will all be joined together, and you will give glory to God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 15:5-6   NCV

In the Moment...

"Nothing ever happens but once in this world. What I do now I do once and forever. It is over, it is gone with a still eternity of solemn meaning." - Springs in the Vally (May 20)

Depend on Him

Proverbs 16:2-3 New Century Version (NCV) 2  You may believe you are doing right,      but the  Lord  will judge your reasons. 3  Depend on the  Lord  in whatever you do,      and your plans will succeed.

Sustained

Isaiah 50:4 New American Standard Bible (NASB) 4  The Lord   [ a ] God   has given Me the tongue of   disciples, That I may know how to   sustain the weary one with a word. He awakens   Me   morning by morning, He awakens My ear to listen as a disciple.

Persist and work hard...

Hebrews 6:10-15 New Century Version (NCV) 10  God is fair; he will not forget the work you did and the love you showed for him by helping his people. And he will remember that you are still helping them.  11  We want each of you to go on with the same hard work all your lives so you will surely get what you hope for. 12  We do not want you to become lazy. Be like those who through faith and patience will receive what God has promised. 13  God made a promise to Abraham. And as there is no one greater than God, he used himself when he swore to Abraham,  14  saying, “I will surely bless you and give you many descendants.”  15  Abraham waited patiently for this to happen, and he received what God promised.

Trust in Him

"The Lord Jesus is perfectly confident that He can meet our needs and He would have us confident, too; for He is the One who for thousands of years has met the needs of those who put their trust in Him." - Springs in the Valley (May 18)

Be ready

"Be ready to be a blessing. One word of encouragement can change the direction of a person's life." - Leona Clausing

Give

Acts 20:32-35 MSG “Now I’m turning you over to God, our marvelous God whose gracious Word can make you into what he wants you to be and give you everything you could possibly need in this community of holy friends. “I’ve never, as you so well know, had any taste for wealth or fashion. With these bare hands I took care of my own basic needs and those who worked with me. In everything I’ve done, I have demonstrated to you how necessary it is to work on behalf of the weak and not exploit them. You’ll not likely go wrong here if you keep remembering that our Master said, ‘You’re far happier giving than getting.’”

Depend on Him

Psalm 33:18-22 The Message (MSG) 18-19  Watch this: God’s eye is on those who respect him,      the ones who are looking for his love. He’s ready to come to their rescue in bad times;      in lean times he keeps body and soul together. 20-22  We’re depending on  God ;      he’s everything we need. What’s more, our hearts brim with joy      since we’ve taken for our own his holy name. Love us,  God , with all you’ve got—      that’s what we’re depending on.

Secret Places

"We cannot go through life strong and fresh on constant express trains with ten minutes for lunch; we must have quiet hours, secret places of the Most High, times of waiting upon the Lord, when we renew our strength and learn to mount up on wings as eagles, and the come back to run and not be weary, and to walk and not faint." - Springs in the Valley (May 14)

My Hideaway

Psalm 32:6-10 The Message (MSG) 6  These things add up. Every one of us needs to pray;      when all hell breaks loose and the dam bursts      we’ll be on high ground, untouched. 7  God ’s my island hideaway,      keeps danger far from the shore,      throws garlands of hosannas around my neck. 8  Let me give you some good advice;      I’m looking you in the eye      and giving it to you straight: 9  “Don’t be ornery like a horse or mule      that needs bit and bridle      to stay on track.” 10  God-defiers are always in trouble;      God -affirmers find themselves loved      every time they turn around.

God's Promise

Psalm 59:16-17 New International Version (NIV) 16  But I will sing   of your strength,      in the morning   I will sing of your love; for you are my fortress,      my refuge in times of trouble. 17  You are my strength, I sing praise to you;      you, God, are my fortress,      my God on whom I can rely.

Let His Peace Rule

"Our sense of peace can be dislodged and replaced by turmoil and confusion before we even realize it.  God’s Word puts it simply. In order to have God’s peace in our hearts we must make the choice to let His peace rule there." - Gail Rodgers

A Gift

Psalm 44:1-3 (MSG) [  A Psalm of the Sons of Korah  ] We’ve been hearing about this, God, all our lives. Our fathers told us the stories their fathers told them, How single-handedly you weeded out the godless from the fields and planted us, How you sent those people packing but gave us a fresh start. We didn’t fight for this  land ; we didn’t work for it—it was a gift! You gave it, smiling as you gave it, delighting as you gave it.

All things...

Jeremiah 32:26-27 The Message Then  God ’s Message came again to Jeremiah: “Stay alert! I am  God , the God of everything living. Is there anything I can’t do?

Always There

Psalm 22:22-24  (The Message) Here’s the story I’ll tell my friends when they come to worship, and punctuate it with Hallelujahs: Shout Hallelujah, you God-worshipers; give glory, you sons of Jacob; adore him, you daughters of Israel. He has never let you down, never looked the other way when you were being kicked around. He has never wandered off to do  his  own thing; he has been right there, listening.

Join Him

If He said it...

1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 The Message (MSG) 23-24  May God himself, the God who makes everything holy and whole, make you holy and whole, put you together—spirit, soul, and body—and keep you fit for the coming of our Master, Jesus Christ. The One who called you is completely dependable. If he said it, he’ll do it!

He Goes Before Us

Deuteronomy 31:8 New International Version (NIV) 8  The   Lord   himself goes before you and will be with you;   he will never leave you nor forsake you.   Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

Whole and Healed

James 5:16-20 The Message (MSG) 16-18  Make this your common practice: Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you can live together whole and healed. The prayer of a person living right with God is something powerful to be reckoned with. Elijah, for instance, human just like us, prayed hard that it wouldn’t rain, and it didn’t—not a drop for three and a half years. Then he prayed that it would rain, and it did. The showers came and everything started growing again. 19-20  My dear friends, if you know people who have wandered off from God’s truth, don’t write them off. Go after them. Get them back and you will have rescued precious lives from destruction and prevented an epidemic of wandering away from God.

Be Still

"Pause! Be still! Selah! Not a word, ephatically; not even a look that will mar the sweet serenity of the soul. get still! Know God! Keep silence before Him! Stillness is better than noise." - Springs in the Valley (May 6)

We are His

Ephesians 2:10 New International Version (NIV) 10  For we are God’s handiwork, created  in Christ Jesus to do good works,  which God prepared in advance for us to do.

The Lord Hears

Psalm 34:4-7 New International Version (NIV) 4  I sought the  Lord ,  and he answered me;      he delivered  me from all my fears. 5  Those who look to him are radiant;      their faces are never covered with shame. 6  This poor man called, and the  Lord  heard him;      he saved him out of all his troubles. 7  The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him,      and he delivers  them.

Faithful

Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Romans 12:12   NIV

In the Silence

"We cannot know Thy stillness until it is broken. There is no music in the silence until we have heard the roar of battle! We cannot see Thy beauty until it is shaded." - Springs in the Valley (May 4)

Wait on His Name

Pray and Seek

2 Chronicles 7:14 English Standard Version (ESV) 14 if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

He cares enough...

By an act of faith, Enoch skipped death completely. “They looked all over and couldn’t find him because God had taken him.” We know on the basis of reliable testimony that before he was taken “he pleased God.” It’s impossible to please God apart from faith. And why? Because anyone who wants to approach God must believe both that he exists and  that he cares enough to respond to those who seek him. Hebrews 11:6   MSG

Like Jesus.

Walk in his footsteps. Love like He loved.  Then the light will shine in the darkness.  Then others will see.
