Never Perish...

John 10:14 New International Version (NIV) 14  “I am the good shepherd;   I know my sheep   and my sheep know me— John 10:27-28 New International Version (NIV) 27  My sheep listen to my voice; I know them,   and they follow me.   28  I give them eternal life,   and they shall never perish;   no one will snatch them out of my hand.

In His Presence

"Linger in My presence a while. Reign in your impulses to plunge into the day's activities. Beginning your day alone with Me is essential preparation for success...Similarly, your time of being still in My presence equips you for the day ahead of you. Only I know what will happen to you this day." - Jesus Calling (October 29)

Searching

Deuteronomy 4:29 But if from there you seek the Lord your  God , you will find him if you seek him with all your  hear t and with all your soul.

Waiting

"Sometimes the only way you hear if God’s knocking is if you are standing right by the door — ready to go." - Ann Voskamp

Prayer Revives...

A moment in the morning ere the cares of the day begin, Ere the heart's wide door is open for the world to enter in; Ah, then, alone with Jesus, in the silence of the morn, In heavenly sweet communion, let your happy day be born; In the quietude that blesses with a prelude of repose, Let your soul be soothed and softened as the dew revives the rose. - Springs in the Valley (October 27)

Pressing On

Philippians 3:12-14 New International Version (NIV) 12  Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal,  but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.   13  Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind  and straining toward what is ahead,   14  I press on  toward the goal to win the prize  for which God has called  me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

Always With Him

Luke 15:31-32 New International Version (NIV) 31  “‘My son,’ the father said, ‘you are always with me, and everything I have is yours.   32  But we had to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’”

Obeying God

James 1:19-25 ESV Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God. Therefore put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror. For he looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like. But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing.

Seek Him

Psalm 69:30-33 New King James Version (NKJV) 30  I will praise the name of God with a song, And will magnify Him with thanksgiving. 31  This  also shall please the  Lord  better than an ox  or  bull, Which has horns and hooves. 32  The humble shall see  this and  be glad; And you who seek God, your hearts shall live. 33  For the  Lord  hears the poor, And does not despise His prisoners.

A God who Acts

Exodus 3:13-15 The Message (MSG) 13  Then Moses said to God, “Suppose I go to the People of Israel and I tell them, ‘The God of your fathers sent me to you’; and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ What do I tell them?” 14  God said to Moses, “I-AM-WHO-I-AM. Tell the People of Israel, ‘I-AM sent me to you.’” 15  God continued with Moses: “This is what you’re to say to the Israelites: ‘ God , the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob sent me to you.’ This has always been my name, and this is how I always will be known.

Goodness and Love

Psalm 23 A psalm of David. 1  The  Lord  is my shepherd,  I lack nothing. 2       He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, 3       he refreshes my soul. He guides me  along the right paths      for his name’s sake. 4  Even though I walk      through the darkest valley, [ a ] I will fear no evil,      for you are with me; your rod and your staff,      they comfort me. 5  You prepare a table  before me      in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil;      my cup  overflows. 6  Surely your goodness and love  will follow me      all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the  Lord      forever. His Words

Proverbs 2   English Standard Version (ESV) The Value of Wisdom 2  My son,   if you receive my words      and treasure up my commandments with you, 2  making your ear attentive to wisdom      and inclining your heart to understanding; 3  yes, if you call out for insight      and raise your voice   for understanding, 4  if you seek it like   silver      and search for it as for   hidden treasures, 5  then   you will understand the fear of the   Lord      and find the knowledge of God. 6  For   the   Lord   gives wisdom;      from his mouth come knowledge and understanding; 7  he stores up sound wisdom for the upright;      he is   a shield to those who   walk in integrity, 8  guarding the paths of justice      and   watch...

Your Fullest Happiness

"It may seem a very terrible thing for the soul to yield itself wholly and unreservedly to the will of Christ. "What is going to happen? What about tomorrow?" Will He not put a very heavy burden upon me if I yield; if I take the yoke?" Ah, you have not known my Master; you have not looked into His face; you have not realised His infinite love for you, Why, God's will for you means your fullest happiness!" - Springs in the Valley (October 22)

Prayer...

"Prayer made it possible for Jesus not to become a victim of His circumstances. He met His circumstances in the same way you and I should meet them - by recourse to God in prayer." - Selwyn Hughes

Prepared for His Work

Ephesians 2:8-10 ESV For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

I will trust...

Isaiah 12:2 New International Version (NIV) 2  Surely God is my salvation;      I will trust  and not be afraid. The  Lord , the  Lord  himself,  is my strength  and my defense;      he has become my salvation.

He Saves

Psalm 34:18 New International Version (NIV) 18  The  Lord  is close  to the brokenhearted      and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

Anything can Be

Listen to the musn'ts child. List to the don'ts - List to the shouldn'ts, the impossibles, the won'ts - Listen to the never haves, Then listen close to Me. Anything can happen child. Anything can be. - Shel Silverstein

A bread that sustains

Authentic thanks is always for all things, because our God is a God kneading all things into a bread that sustains. Paul gave “glory in tribulations” (Ro. 5:13) and took “pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake” (2 Cor. 12:10), and he knew that which didn’t look like anything good might yield good, all in the hand of a good God. - Ann Voskamp aholyexperience.com

A Future

Jeremiah 29:11 New International Version (NIV) 11  For I know the plans  I have for you,” declares the  Lord , “plans to prosper  you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Daily Wait

"We are all in need of more power, more courage, more wisdom than we actually possess. This "plus extra" comes to him whose heart thrills over the Eternal; who daily waits for Divine resources." - Springs in the Valley (October 16"

Promise and Protection

"Try to stay conscious of Me as you go step by step through this day. My Presence with you is both a promise and a protection. My final statement just before I ascended into heaven was : Surely I am with you always . That promise was for all of My followers, without exception." - Jesus Calling (October 15)

His Greatness

1 Chronicles 29:11 ESV Yours, O Lord , is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, O Lord , and you are exalted as head above all.

To be thankful

"The sparrow and the roses remind there is so much good." - Jenny & Tyler

Peace

Numbers 6:24-26 English Standard Version (ESV) 24  The   Lord   bless you and   keep you; 25  the   Lord   make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; 26  the   Lord   lift up his countenance [ a ]   upon you and give you peace.

Praise Him

"A sacrifice of thanks lays down our perspective and raises hands in praise anyways – always." - Ann Voskamp

Patience of Hope

1 Thessalonians 1:2-6 MSG Every time we think of you, we thank God for you. Day and night you’re in our prayers as we call to mind your work of faith, your labor of love, and your patience of hope in following our Master, Jesus Christ, before God our Father. It is clear to us, friends, that God not only loves you very much but also has put his hand on you for something special. When the Message we preached came to you, it wasn’t just words. Something happened in you. The Holy Spirit put steel in your convictions. You paid careful attention to the way we lived among you, and determined to live that way yourselves. In imitating us, you imitated the Master. Although great trouble accompanied the Word, you were able to take great joy from the Holy Spirit!—taking the trouble with the joy, the joy with the trouble.

All Things

Isaiah 45:6-7 NKJV That they may know from the rising of the sun to its setting That there is none besides Me. I am the Lord , and there is no other; I form the light and create darkness, I make peace and create calamity; I, the Lord , do all these things.

Behold... He has done great things

Luke 1:46-55 New King James Version (NKJV) The Song of Mary 46  And Mary said: “My soul magnifies the Lord, 47  And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior. 48  For He has regarded the lowly state of His maidservant; For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed. 49  For He who is mighty has done great things for me, And holy  is  His name. 50  And His mercy  is  on those who fear Him From generation to generation. 51  He has shown strength with His arm; He has scattered  the  proud in the imagination of their hearts. 52  He has put down the mighty from  their  thrones, And exalted  the  lowly. 53  He has filled  the  hungry with good things, And  the  rich He has sent away empty. 54  He has helped His servant Israel, In remembrance of  His  mercy, 55  As He spoke to our fathers, To Abraham and to his seed forever.” ...
