Trust in God

Psalms 25:1-3 NKJV To You, O Lord , I lift up my soul. O my God, I trust in You; Let me not be ashamed; Let not my enemies triumph over me. Indeed, let no one who waits on You be ashamed; Let those be ashamed who deal treacherously without cause.

Confidence in God

Psalm 40:3-4 English Standard Version (ESV) 3 He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the Lord. 4 Blessed is the man who makes the Lord his trust, who does not turn to the proud, to those who go astray after a lie!

Let Him In

Trust in the Lord... Allow His loving hand to mould you into the person He created you to be. Luke 1:37 (NKJV) "For with God nothing will be impossible.”

I Have a Reason...

Seek Him

Psalm 119:1-8 English Standard Version (ESV) 119  [ a ]   Blessed are those whose   way is blameless,      who   walk in the law of the   Lord ! 2  Blessed are those who   keep his   testimonies,      who   seek him with their whole heart, 3  who also   do no wrong,      but walk in his ways! 4  You have commanded your   precepts      to be kept diligently. 5  Oh that my ways may   be steadfast      in keeping your statutes! 6  Then I shall not be put to shame,      having my eyes fixed on all your commandments. 7  I will praise you with an upright heart,      when I learn   your righteous rules. [ b ] 8  I will keep your statutes;      do not utterly forsake me!

Always With Us

Matthew 28:20 New King James Version (NKJV) "...and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

In One with Him

John 17:22-23 NKJV And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.

Believe

"God loves with a special love the man who has a passion for the impossible." - William Booth

Praying Regardless...

I ought to pray - I ought always to pray - I should not grow faint in praying. Praying is a form of work. The farmer plows his field often when he does not feel like it, but he confidently expects crop for his labours. Now, if prayer is a form of work, and our labour is not in vain in the Lord, should we not pray regardless of our feelings? - Commissioner Brengle

Our Purpose

Acts 26:16 English Standard Version (ESV) 16  But rise and  stand upon your feet, for I have appeared to you for this purpose,  to appoint you as a servant and witness to the things in which you have seen me and to those in which I will appear to you

Who You Are

"When you realize God has designed you to do something that no one else can do, you will realize who you are in Christ.” - Dr Caroline Leaf

An Awesome God

Lights

God called his children to shine as lights in the world. Let us then, beware of hiding our light - whether household candle, street lamp or lighthouse gleam... - Springs in the Valley, June 22

Our God

Psalm 48:14 New International Version (NIV) 14 For this God is our God for ever and ever; he will be our guide even to the end.

All Things

Colossians 1:16-17 NIV For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

Our Salvation

Isaiah 12:2 New King James Version (NKJV) 2  Behold, God  is  my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; ‘For  Yah , the  Lord ,  is  my strength and song; He also has become my salvation.’”

Joy

John 16:24 (NKJV) Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.

Like the Dew...

Hosea 14:5-7 New King James Version (NKJV) 5 I will be like the dew to Israel; He shall grow like the lily, And lengthen his roots like Lebanon. 6 His branches shall spread; His beauty shall be like an olive tree, And his fragrance like Lebanon. 7 Those who dwell under his shadow shall return; They shall be revived like grain, And grow like a vine. Their scent shall be like the wine of Lebanon.

Never Stop Praying

Luke 18:1-8 New International Version (NIV) The Parable of the Persistent Widow 18  Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.   2  He said:  “In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared what people thought.   3  And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, ‘Grant me justice  against my adversary.’ 4  “For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, ‘Even though I don’t fear God or care what people think, 5  yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won’t eventually come and attack me!’” 6  And the Lord  said,  “Listen to what the unjust judge says.   7  And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out  to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off?   8  I tell you, he will see that they get justice, a...

To Wait...

Psalm 62 New King James Version (NKJV) A Calm Resolve to Wait for the Salvation of God To the Chief Musician. To Jeduthun. A Psalm of David. 62 Truly my soul silently waits for God; From Him comes my salvation. 2 He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be greatly moved. 3 How long will you attack a man? You shall be slain, all of you, Like a leaning wall and a tottering fence. 4 They only consult to cast him down from his high position; They delight in lies; They bless with their mouth, But they curse inwardly. Selah 5 My soul, wait silently for God alone, For my expectation is from Him. 6 He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be moved. 7 In God is my salvation and my glory; The rock of my strength, And my refuge, is in God. 8 Trust in Him at all times, you people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. Selah 9 Surely men of low degree are a vapor, Men of high degree are a lie...

Delivered

Daniel 12:1-3 New King James Version (NKJV) 12  At that time Michael shall stand up, The great prince who stands  watch  over the sons of your people; And there shall be a time of trouble, Such as never was since there was a nation, Even  to that time. And at that time your people shall be delivered, Every one who is found written in the book. 2  And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, Some to everlasting life, Some to shame  and  everlasting contempt. 3  Those who are wise shall shine Like the brightness of the firmament, And those who turn many to righteousness Like the stars forever and ever.

The Everlasting God

Isaiah 40:28-31 New King James Version (NKJV) 28 Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. 29 He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength. 30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, 31 But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.

One Small Life...

One small life in God’s great plan - How futile it seems as the ages roll, Do what it may or strive how it can To alter the sweep of the infinite whole! A single stitch in an endless web, A drop in the ocean’s flow or ebb; But the pattern is rent where the stitch is lost, Or marred where the tangled threads have crossed: And each life that fails of its true intent Mars the perfect plan that its Master meant. - Susan Coolidge

Believing Prayer

Acts 9:36-42 NLT There was a believer in Joppa named Tabitha (which in Greek is Dorcas ). She was always doing kind things for others and helping the poor. About this time she became ill and died. Her body was washed for burial and laid in an upstairs room. But the believers had heard that Peter was nearby at Lydda, so they sent two men to beg him, “Please come as soon as possible!” So Peter returned with them; and as soon as he arrived, they took him to the upstairs room. The room was filled with widows who were weeping and showing him the coats and other clothes Dorcas had made for them. But Peter asked them all to leave the room; then he knelt and prayed. Turning to the body he said, “Get up, Tabitha.” And she opened her eyes! When she saw Peter, she sat up! He gave her his hand and helped her up. Then he called in the widows and all the believers, and he presented her to them alive. The news spread through the whole town, and many believed in the Lord.

His Holy Name

Isaiah 57:15 New International Version (NIV) 15  For this is what the high and exalted   One says—      he who lives forever,   whose name is holy: “I live in a high   and holy place,      but also with the one who is contrite   and lowly in spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly      and to revive the heart of the contrite.

Finding Him

"It is in the path of His appointment that we shall find His presence." - Springs in the Valley, June 14.

There is Still Room

"In our ministry and church life, perhaps, in the midst of our well-meant endeavours we need to be attentive to the Master’s voice inviting us to stop and enjoy the party. Maybe as we go about our daily lives we need to be attuned to the God who whispers to us, ‘there is still room.’" - John Thornton

Promise

Trust. Hope. Believe. He will never leave us, nor will He forsake us. He is Peace. He is Grace. He is Love.

A Mighty God

God desires not that He may say to them, "Look how mighty I am, and go down upon your knees and worship," for power alone was never yet worthy of prayer; but that He may say thus: "Look, my children, you will never be strong but with my strength. I have no other to give you. And that you can get only by trusting in me. I can not give it you any other way. There is no other way." - George MacDonald

Rich in Living

"Life is a great mixture of happiness and tragic storm. He who comes out of it rich in living, is he who dares to accept it all, face it all, and let it blow it's power, mystery and tragedy into the inmost recesses of the soul. A victory so won in this life will then be an eternal possession." - Springs in the Valley (June 8)

Seek Him Daily

"Let the Word create around you, create within you, a holy heavenly light in which your soul will be refreshed and strengthened for the work of daily life." - Rev. Andrew Murray

Prayer Power

"The prayer power has never been tried to its full capacity. If we want to see mighty wonders of divine power and grace wrought in the place of weakness, failure and disappointment, let us answer God's standing challenge, "Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things which thou knowest not!'" - J. Hudson Taylor

Open Your Eyes

"Interruptions are Divine instructions." - Springs in the Valley, June 10.

The Lord is Near

"0h brother, pray; in spite of Satan, pray; spend hours in prayer; rather neglect friends than not pray; rather fast, and lose breakfast, dinner, tea, and supper - and sleep too - than not pray. And we must not talk about prayer, we must pray in right earnest. The Lord is near. He comes softly while the virgins slumber." Andrew A. Bonar

He Satisfies

Psalm 107:2-9 New King James Version (NKJV) 2 Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy, 3 And gathered out of the lands, From the east and from the west, From the north and from the south. 4 They wandered in the wilderness in a desolate way; They found no city to dwell in. 5 Hungry and thirsty, Their soul fainted in them. 6 Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, And He delivered them out of their distresses. 7 And He led them forth by the right way, That they might go to a city for a dwelling place. 8 Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men! 9 For He satisfies the longing soul, And fills the hungry soul with goodness.

Trust

"Faith is made up of belief and trust. Many people believe God, but they do not trust themselves into His keeping and care; consequently, they are filled with worry and fear." - Dr. Lee Roberson Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

Rest

Jeremiah 31:23-25 NLT This is what the L ord of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel, says: “When I bring them back from captivity, the people of Judah and its towns will again say, ‘The L ord bless you, O righteous home, O holy mountain!’ Townspeople and farmers and shepherds alike will live together in peace and happiness. For I have given rest to the weary and joy to the sorrowing.”

God in Christ

2 Corinthians 5:19 New Life Version (NLV) 19 God was in Christ. He was working through Christ to bring the whole world back to Himself. God no longer held men’s sins against them. And He gave us the work of telling and showing men this.

Chosen

Psalm 18:50 New Life Version (NLV) He gives His king great power over trouble. And He shows loving-kindness to His chosen one, to David, and to his children after him forever.

Trusting in God

Jeremiah 17:7-8 New King James Version (NKJV) 7  “Blessed   is   the man who trusts in the   Lord , And whose hope is the   Lord . 8  For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear [ a ]   when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit.

His Solution

"When a great issue is in the balance and the path is obscure, wait; but with that waiting shirk not the worth that lieth before thee, for in that task may be the solution of thy problem ." - Springs in the Valley (June 5)

True to His Word

Psalm 23 The Message (MSG) A David Psalm 23 1-3 God, my shepherd! I don’t need a thing. You have bedded me down in lush meadows, you find me quiet pools to drink from. True to your word, you let me catch my breath and send me in the right direction. 4 Even when the way goes through Death Valley, I’m not afraid when you walk at my side. Your trusty shepherd’s crook makes me feel secure. 5 You serve me a six-course dinner right in front of my enemies. You revive my drooping head; my cup brims with blessing. 6 Your beauty and love chase after me every day of my life. I’m back home in the house of God for the rest of my life.

He is Leading the Way

Isaiah 43:19 NKJV Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert.

Never Alone

Ephesians 6:13-18 The Message (MSG) 13-18 Be prepared. You’re up against far more than you can handle on your own. Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued, so that when it’s all over but the shouting you’ll still be on your feet. Truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and salvation are more than words. Learn how to apply them. You’ll need them throughout your life. God’s Word is an indispensable weapon. In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other’s spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out.

Perseverance in Prayer

"If the soul perseveres in a life of prayer, there will come a time when these seasons of dryness will pass away and the soul will be lead out, as Daniel says, "into a large place". Let nothing discourage you. If the soil is dry, keep cultivating it. It is said, that in dry time this harrowing of the corn is equal to a shower of rain." - Springs in the Valley (June 1)

A Plan For You

"God has a plan for you, a place for you, and a journey for you. Listen, can you hear him calling?" - Take My Heart, Oh God (June 3)

Life

James 1:12 The Message (MSG) Anyone who meets a testing challenge head-on and manages to stick it out is mighty fortunate. For such persons loyally in love with God, the reward is life and more life.

His Blessing

Malachi 3:10 NKJV Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this,” Says the Lord of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive  it.
