In His Time

Joshua 1:14-15 GNT Your wives, your children, and your livestock will stay here, but your soldiers, armed for battle, will cross over ahead of the other Israelites in order to help them  until they have occupied the land west of the Jordan that the LORD your God has given them. When he has given safety to all the tribes of Israel, then you may come back and settle here in your own land east of the Jordan, which Moses, the LORD's servant, gave to you. Perfect Preparation

“This is what the past is for! Every experience God gives us, every person He puts in our lives is the perfect preparation for the future that only He can see.”                                                                                       ― Corrie Ten Boom

We Wait...

“If I find in myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy,  the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world.”  - C.S. Lewis

For His Good

Romans 8:22-30 NKJV For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now. Not only  that,  but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body. For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for  it  with perseverance. Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit  is,  because He makes intercession for the saints according to  the will of  God. And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to  His  purpo...

Serve the Lord

Joshua 24:15 NKJV And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that  were  on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. Published with Blogger-droid v2.0.4

He Will Heal

Psalm 41: 3-4 (NKJV) The  Lord  will strengthen him on his bed of illness; You will sustain him on his sickbed. I said, “ Lord , be merciful to me; Heal my soul..." Matthew 8:7 And Jesus said to him, “I will come and  heal  him.”

Ask, Seek, Knock...

Matthew 7:7-11 New Life Version (NLV) Jesus Teaches about Prayer 7  “Ask, and what you are asking for will be given to you. Look, and what you are looking for you will find. Knock, and the door you are knocking on will be opened to you.  8  Everyone who asks receives what he asks for. Everyone who looks finds what he is looking for. Everyone who knocks has the door opened to him.  9  What man among you would give his son a stone if he should ask for bread?  10  Or if he asks for a fish, would he give him a snake?  11  You are bad and you know how to give good things to your children. How much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask Him? *Photograph copyright 2012 R. Harriott

I'm Waiting

"I'm waiting on You, Lord Though it is painful But patiently, I will wait" - John Waller (While I'm Waiting)

For His Good

"Negative emotions arise whenever we lose sight of the fact that 'in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.' (Romans 8:28). Once we become aware of the fact that as Heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ, we belong to God's own family, and that He will never allow anything to happen to us unless He can use it for good, then this conviction become the 'cosmic loom' on which all of life is woven. If we do don accept this fact then we will respond to life in negative ways, be becoming angry, frustrated and impatient." - Selwyn Hughes http://inspiration4andys.blogspot.com.au/2011/12/within-storm.html

What Faith Can Do...

Understanding

Luke 24:31-32 New Century Version (NCV) 31 And then, they were allowed to recognize Jesus. But when they saw who he was, he disappeared. 32 They said to each other, "It felt like a fire burning in us when Jesus talked to us on the road and explained the Scriptures to us." Luke 24:45 New Century Version (NCV) 45 Then Jesus opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. Published with Blogger-droid v2.0.4

Give Thanks

Psalm 92:1-4 New King James Version (NKJV) It is  good to give thanks to the  Lord , And to sing praises to Your name, O Most High; 2  To declare Your lovingkindness in the morning, And Your faithfulness every night, 3  On an instrument of ten strings, On the lute, And on the harp, With harmonious sound. 4  For You,  Lord , have made me glad through Your work; I will triumph in the works of Your hands. *photograph copyright 2012 R. His Peace

"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid." - John 14:27 Published with Blogger-droid v2.0.4

United

" Often we want people to pray for us and help us, but we always defeat our object when we look too much to them and lean upon them. The true secret of union is for both to look upon God, and in the act of looking past themselves to Him they are unconsciously united." - A.B. Simpson

He Walks Beside Us

2 Corinthians 1:3-5 The Message (MSG)   3-5 All praise to the God and Father of our Master, Jesus the Messiah! Father of all mercy! God of all healing counsel! He comes alongside us when we go through hard times, and before you know it, he brings us alongside someone else who is going through hard times so that we can be there for that person just as God was there for us. We have plenty of hard times that come from following the Messiah, but no more so than the good times of his healing comfort—we get a full measure of that, too.

Wait

Habakkuk 2:3 New King James Version (NKJV) 3  For the vision  is  yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry.

Ultimate Humility

John 13:1-17 New Century Version (NCV) 1 It was almost time for the Passover Feast. Jesus knew that it was time for him to leave this world and go back to the Father. He had always loved those who were his own in the world, and he loved them all the way to the end. 2 Jesus and his followers were at the evening meal. The devil had already persuaded Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon, to turn against Jesus. 3 Jesus knew that the Father had given him power over everything and that he had come from God and was going back to God. 4 So during the meal Jesus stood up and took off his outer clothing. Taking a towel, he wrapped it around his waist. 5 Then he poured water into a bowl and began to wash the followers' feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him. 6 Jesus came to Simon Peter, who said to him, "Lord, are you going to wash my feet?" 7 Jesus answered, "You don't understand now what I am doing, but you will understand later." 8 Pe...

His Spirit With Us

1 John 2:24-27 New Living Translation (NLT) 24  So you must remain faithful to what you have been taught from the beginning. If you do, you will remain in fellowship with the Son and with the Father.   25  And in this fellowship we enjoy the eternal life he promised us. 26  I am writing these things to warn you about those who want to lead you astray.   27  But you have received the Holy Spirit, [ a ]  and he lives within you, so you don’t need anyone to teach you what is true. For the Spirit [ b ] teaches you everything you need to know, and what he teaches is true — it is not a lie. So just as he has taught you, remain in fellowship with Christ. Who We Are

I am not the brood of dust and sod, Nor a shuttled thread in the loom of fate; But the child Divine of the living God, With eternity my life's estate. I am not a sport of cosmic night, Nor a thing of chance that has grown to man; But a deathless soul on my upward flight, And my Father's heir in His wondrous plan. - Alva Romanes

Worry - Why?

Matthew 6:25-34 New International Version (NIV) Do Not Worry 25  “Therefore I tell you, do not worry  about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?   26  Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them.  Are you not much more valuable than they?  27  Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life [ a ] ? 28  “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin.   29  Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor  was dressed like one of these.   30  If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith?  31  So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ...

He Shall Bless Us

"The Life of faith is the life that uses the Lord."   - Handley Moule Psalm 67 New King James Version (NKJV) God be merciful to us and bless us, And  cause His face to shine upon us,  Selah 2  That Your way may be known on earth, Your salvation among all nations. 3  Let the peoples praise You, O God; Let all the peoples praise You. 4  Oh, let the nations be glad and sing for joy! For You shall judge the people righteously, And govern the nations on earth.  Selah 5  Let the peoples praise You, O God; Let all the peoples praise You. 6  Then  the earth shall yield her increase; God, our own God, shall bless us. 7  God shall bless us, And all the ends of the earth shall fear Him. *photograph copyright R. Give all We Have

" Jesus I need You,  As Lord of my life,  I give all I have unto You"

By Faith

Romans 1:16-17 The Just Live by Faith 16  For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, [ a ]  for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.  17  For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written,  “The just shall live by faith.”

Keep Watch

Proverbs 4:23-27 The Message (MSG) 23-27 Keep vigilant watch over your heart;    that's where life starts. Don't talk out of both sides of your mouth;    avoid careless banter, white lies, and gossip. Keep your eyes straight ahead;    ignore all sideshow distractions. Watch your step,    and the road will stretch out smooth before you. Look neither right nor left;    leave evil in the dust.

Do Not Be Afraid...

John 14:27-28  (NKJV) 27  Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.   28  You have heard Me say to you, ‘I am going away and coming  back  to you.’ If you loved Me, you would rejoice because I said, [ a ]   ‘I am going to the Father,’ for My Father is greater than I.

Faith is not always a Fire

Chosen

1 Thessalonians 1:2-10 New Century Version (NCV) The Faith of the Thessalonians   2  We always thank God for all of you and mention you when we pray. 3  We continually recall before God our Father the things you have done because of your faith and the work you have done because of your love. And we thank him that you continue to be strong because of your hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.   4  Brothers and sisters, God loves you, and we know he has chosen you,  5  because the Good News we brought to you came not only with words, but with power, with the Holy Spirit, and with sure knowledge that it is true. Also you know how we lived when we were with you in order to help you. 6  And you became like us and like the Lord. You suffered much, but still you accepted the teaching with the joy that comes from the Holy Spirit. 7  So you became an example to all the believers in Macedonia and Southern Greece. 8  And the Lord's teaching sp...

Holy, Pure, Faultless

Colossians 1:15-23 Good News Translation (GNT) 15 Christ is the visible likeness of the invisible God. He is the first-born Son, superior to all created things. 16 For through him God created everything in heaven and on earth, the seen and the unseen things, including spiritual powers, lords, rulers, and authorities. God created the whole universe through him and for him. 17 Christ existed before all things, and in union with him all things have their proper place. 18 He is the head of his body, the church; he is the source of the body's life. He is the first-born Son, who was raised from death, in order that he alone might have the first place in all things. 19 For it was by God's own decision that the Son has in himself the full nature of God. 20 Through the Son, then, God decided to bring the whole universe back to himself. God made peace through his Son's blood [ a ] on the cross and so brought back to himself all things, both on earth and in heaven.   2...

My Pace-Setter

Psalm 23 (Japanese Translation) The Lord is my Pace-setter, I shall not rush; He provides me with images of stillness, which restore my serenity, He makes me stop and rest for quiet intervals, He leads me in ways of efficiency through calmness of mind, And His guidance is peace. Even though I have a great many things to do each day, I will not fret, for His presence is here, He prepares refreshment and renewal in the midst of my activity, His timelessness, His all-importance, will keep me in balance, By anointing my mind with His oils of tranquility. My cup of joyous energy overflows, Surely harmony and effectiveness shall be the fruit of my hours, and I shall walk in the pace of my Lord and dwell in His house forever.

In His Mercy

Psalm 80:14-19 Good News Translation (GNT)   14  Turn to us, Almighty God!       Look down from heaven at us;       come and save your people!   15  Come and save this grapevine that you planted,       this young vine you made grow so strong!   16  Our enemies have set it on fire and cut it down;       look at them in anger and destroy them!   17  Preserve and protect the people you have chosen,       the nation you made so strong.   18  We will never turn away from you again;       keep us alive, and we will praise you.   19  Bring us back, Lord God Almighty.       Show us your mercy, and we will be saved.

Happy Mother's Day!

Looked After

Ezekiel 36:9 New International Version (NIV) 9  I am concerned for you and will look on you with favor; you will be plowed and sown, "Come ill, come well, the cross, the crown, The rainbow or the thunder -  I fling my soul and my body down For God to plow them under." - John Buchan

His, my will

I owned a little boat a while ago And sailed a Morning sea without a fear And whither any breeze might fairly blow I'd steer the craft afar or near. Mine was the boat, and mine the air, And mine the sea; not mine, a care. My boat became my place of nightly toil. I sailed at sunset to the fishing ground, At morn, the boat was freighted with the spoil That my all-conquering work and skill had found. Mine was the boat, and mine the net, And mine the skill, the power to get One day there passed along the silent shore, While I my net was casting in the sea, A man, who spoke as never man before; I followed Him - new life begun in me. Mine was the boat, but His the voice, And His the call; yet mine, the choice. Ah, 'twas a fearful night out on the lake, And all my skill availed not at the helm, Till Him asleep I awaken, crying "Take, Take Thou command, lest waters overwhelm!" His was the boat, and His the sea, ...

Taking Our Place

Hebrews 13:13-19 The Message (MSG)   13-15  So let's go outside, where Jesus is, where the action is—not trying to be privileged insiders, but taking our share in the abuse of Jesus. This "insider world" is not our home. We have our eyes peeled for the City about to come. Let's take our place outside with Jesus, no longer pouring out the sacrificial blood of animals but pouring out sacrificial praises from our lips to God in Jesus' name.   16 Make sure you don't take things for granted and go slack in working for the common good; share what you have with others. God takes particular pleasure in acts of worship—a different kind of "sacrifice"—that take place in kitchen and workplace and on the streets.   17 Be responsive to your pastoral leaders. Listen to their counsel. They are alert to the condition of your lives and work under the strict supervision of God. Contribute to the joy of their leadership, not its drudgery. Why would you want...

Consider Him...

Hebrews 12:1-3 New King James Version (NKJV) The Race of Faith 12  Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares  us,  and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,  2  looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of  our  faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Something Beautiful

He is with us...

Psalm 73:23-28 New King James Version (NKJV) 23  Nevertheless I  am  continually with You; You hold  me  by my right hand. 24  You will guide me with Your counsel, And afterward receive me  to  glory. 25  Whom have I in heaven  but You? And  there is  none upon earth  that  I desire besides You. 26  My flesh and my heart fail; But  God  is  the strength of my heart and my portion forever. 27  For indeed, those who are far from You shall perish; You have destroyed all those who desert You for harlotry. 28  But  it is  good for me to draw near to God; I have put my trust in the Lord G OD , That I may declare all Your works.

He Delivers

Genesis 21:1-20 New Century Version (NCV) A Baby for Sarah   1  The  Lord  cared for Sarah as he had said and did for her what he had promised. 2  Sarah became pregnant and gave birth to a son for Abraham in his old age. Everything happened at the time God had said it would. 3  Abraham named his son Isaac, the son Sarah gave birth to. 4  He circumcised Isaac when he was eight days old as God had commanded.   5  Abraham was one hundred years old when his son Isaac was born. 6  And Sarah said, "God has made me laugh. Everyone who hears about this will laugh with me. 7  No one thought that I would be able to have Abraham's child, but even though Abraham is old I have given him a son." Hagar and Ishmael Leave   8  Isaac grew, and when he became old enough to eat food, Abraham gave a great feast. 9  But Sarah saw Ishmael making fun of Isaac. How Do We Abide?

John 15:7-10 English Standard Version 7 If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples. 9 As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. A New Spirit

Ezekiel 36:26-27 New Living Translation (NLT) 26  And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart. He Felt Our Pain

Isaiah 53:1-5 New Century Version (NCV)      Who would have believed what we heard?        Who saw the Lord's power in this?   2  He grew up like a small plant before the  Lord ,        like a root growing in a dry land.     He had no special beauty or form to make us notice him;        there was nothing in his appearance to make us desire him.   3  He was hated and rejected by people.        He had much pain and suffering.     People would not even look at him.        He was hated, and we didn't even notice him.   4  But he took our suffering on him        and felt our pain for us.     We saw his suffering        and thought God was punishing him.   5  But he wa...
